Cookwright

Terms of Service

Effective September 26, 2026

The short version

The free planner is free and always will be. Paid is $10 a month, cancels whenever you like, and runs until the end of the period you already paid for. What you write is yours. The macro and cost figures are estimates, not dietary or medical advice, and the allergy checks are a convenience rather than a safety system — read the label yourself.

These terms apply when you use Cookwright at cookwright.app. Cookwright is operated by Indura Software, LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. Using it means you accept what is written here; if you do not, do not use it. Questions go to hello@indura.us.

What Cookwright is

A recipe notebook that does the arithmetic: you write recipes and put them on a calendar, and it works out the macros, what is short, and what the shopping comes to. It is a planning tool. It does not cook, shop, or deliver anything.

Accounts

An account is optional — the planner works signed out, with your data in your own browser. Accounts are created by signing in with a supported provider; there is no password. Keep control of the provider account you sign in with, because whoever can sign in there can reach your kitchen here. You must be at least 13 years old to have an account.

You are responsible for what you put in your account, and for having the right to put it there.

You can delete your account whenever you like, from the bottom of the Settings page. It is permanent: everything the account holds is destroyed, an active subscription is canceled in the same step, and there is no refund for the remainder of the period — the same as canceling. Nothing is archived, so take a copy of anything you want first.

Plans and billing

The free planner is free, and always will be. That is a commitment rather than a description of today: everything the free plan does now stays on the free plan. We may add things to the paid plan, and we may build new things and charge for those, but we will not take something that is free today, put it behind the paid plan, and charge you for it tomorrow.

Payment is handled by Stripe. A subscription renews every month until you cancel, and the price is charged in U.S. dollars. Taxes may be added where they apply.

Canceling: press Cancel in the app whenever you like. The paid features stay until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then the account returns to free. We do not refund part of a month — you keep what you paid for until it runs out. If we ever change the price, we will say so in the app before it applies to you, and canceling instead is always an option.

Lapsing is not losing. The recipe ceiling binds on writing, never on reading: if a subscription ends while you hold forty recipes, all forty stay and stay editable, and you simply cannot add a forty-first until you are paid again. Macro targets you set stay set and keep measuring your plan; you just cannot change them. Your palette is yours either way.

The assistant, and its ceiling

The paid plan includes a monthly allowance of assistant usage — $5 of model usage per account per calendar month, measured in what it actually costs us rather than in a number of messages, because two hundred short questions and twenty "plan a fortnight" runs are not the same amount of work. Reaching the allowance stops the built-in assistant for the rest of the month; agent access over MCP keeps working, runs the same tools through your own AI subscription, and has no ceiling from us.

The assistant writes recipes, plans, and shopping lists. It can be wrong. Check anything that matters before you cook it or buy it.

Your content

Your recipes, plans, and preferences are yours. We claim no ownership of them. You give us only the permission we need to run the service — to store your content, show it back to you, sync it between your devices, and process it to produce the totals you asked for. We do not use it to train anything, and we do not sell it. If you use the assistant, the relevant parts go to Anthropic to answer you, as described in the Privacy Policy.

The numbers are estimates

This matters more than anything else on this page.

Instacart

Cookwright can send your shopping list to Instacart, which opens a list on their site. Anything after that — the order, the prices, the substitutions, the delivery — is between you and Instacart under their terms. We are not Instacart and we do not control what they charge or when they arrive. We take part in their affiliate program and may earn a commission on orders placed from a list you send over, which costs you nothing and does not change what you pay. Instacart is a trademark of its owner.

Using it reasonably

Do not attack the service, work around its limits, hammer it with automated traffic, resell access to it, use it to break the law, or use it in a way that breaks the terms of the services it connects to. Agent access is for your own account, not a data pipeline for somebody else's product.

Availability, and changes

We do not promise a particular uptime. This is a small service, run carefully, on one machine at a time — it will occasionally be down, and it will occasionally be down while a change goes out. Features may change; we will announce anything material in the app. We may add, alter, or retire parts of the service, and if we ever discontinue it altogether we will give you notice and time to take your data out. One thing this section does not let us do: move a free feature behind the paid plan. See Plans and billing above — that promise outranks this paragraph.

Suspension

We may suspend or close an account that abuses the service, that is used against these terms, or whose payments fail. Where the situation allows it, we will say what the problem is first. Closing an account for abuse does not entitle you to a refund of the current period.

No warranty

Cookwright is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the nutrition, cost, or planning figures it produces are accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Indura Software, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or the cost of substitute services, arising out of your use of Cookwright. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or $50 if you paid us nothing. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Governing law

These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of Cookwright, are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any such dispute belongs in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, and you and we each consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. If any part of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the effective date above changes with them, and anything material will be said in the app rather than left to be noticed. Continuing to use Cookwright after a change means the new version applies. If a change is one you do not accept, cancel and stop using the service.
